About Rainbodhi Canada

Rainbodhi Canada is a network of 2SLGBTQIA+ Buddhists across the country joining together in spiritual friendship to create safer spaces for deepening their mindfulness practices in an atmosphere that welcomes Buddhist approaches to social justice.

Organising Team

Kody Muncaster

Kody (they/them) helped establish Rainbodhi Canada. They are a PhD candidate at Western University in Canada and a scholar in queer and trans Buddhist studies. They hold a MA in Buddhist Studies from the University of South Wales and are working on a book on queer and trans Buddhism. They primarily practice in the Zen tradition but draw from a variety of other traditions as well. They also research HIV/AIDS, suicide prevention, and trans health. They are a Buddhist Grief Counsellor at the Toronto Centre for Applied Buddhism. 




Melina Bondy 

Melina (they/them) is a queer Buddhist teacher who has been meditating since 2003. In 2012 they took monastic vows under Thich Nhat Hanh and spent eight years in robes. After leaving monastic life they trained in Buddhist Spiritual Care at the University of Toronto and in the True North Insight Community Meditation Leader Mentorship program.

Their teaching blends Insight and Plum Village practices with somatics, justice and creativity.
